Letter To Dr. Des Turner MP I

I am about to post this letter to my MP, the representative for Brighton Kemptown Des Turner. I would encourage you all to write similar letters to your MPs.

——————————————————-

Dear Mr. Turner,

I will keep this short because I am sure you are busy. Copenhagen is nearly upon us. We really need this summit to work, and as my MP I hope you will impress upon the Leader of your Party & your Parliamentary Brethren more generally my fervent desire that it should. We have but one Planet. If you take just one message from this letter, let it be that.

Continuing though: Lord Mandelson’s ‘Digital Economy Bill’ is a piece of car crash legislation that will do no good and much ill for this Isle. I myself work as a Freelance IT Developer, so know well enough already how the Digital Economy and the Creative Industries work; this will stymie innovation and simply increase the bondage on an already suffering population. I will not repeat the arguments for and against as I’m sure you are aware of them already. I wish just to say that the Entertainment Business is able to adapt if it wants to, the massive growth in Live Music in Europe over the past few years is evidence of that. Let them adapt, they will be fine, and in the meanwhile do not punish British Internet users.

Sincerely

Richard Willis

ps: I thought the so-called Expenses Scandal was the most overblown, non-story transformed into a McCarthyist witchhunt I have ever had the misfortune to witness launched against the Parliamentary Machine in this country and I feel truly sorry for you all. I’m a proper liberal leftist and even I think Politics needs to get more dictatorial in this country. You are all so frightened of the Media and the Public that I’d be amazed if any of you got a proper night’s sleep ever! Pay yourselves a decent wage and stop kowtowing to the Red Tops.
